Thoughts on Deep Processing

I support and value deep thinking now that I know its outcomes and effects on cognition and behavior. I think I might even prefer it to my past classmates in my old school by teaching it to them hahah.

Thoughts on Learning Theories

I understand why I behave the way I do depending on the teacher’s epistemology, instruction and facilitation (and not) of learning. Knowing this, I want to still base my epistemology depending on the teacher but I also want to keep in mind that constructivist approaches to learning will always be the best way to learn.

Thoughts on the Future

As a future instructional designer, however, I want to made an elaborate, flexible and universal guide on when, where and how to use the four learning theories to the advantage of the teachers, learners and curriculum makers. By knowing when and where these theories are best enforced and applied, we can stop using only one learning theory and be open to using all of them to facilitate students’ successful learning. I also want to emphasize what SUCCESSFUL LEARNING is not only to the students, but most importantly to the teachers. Now that i think of it, I now doubt if my high school teachers knew the true meaning of successful learning.

Ultimate (and Concluding) “AHA!” instance

An unrelated realization I want to share to conclude this blog (but definitely not my learning and action journey) is that the more I know and acknowledge society and the environment and its issues, the more I can use almost any learnings into practice. I even think this is how the activist inside me will start to grow hahahah. All I can say is that the learnings and journey throughout this course just made me hungry for more knowledge to understand, apply and create for the betterment of society, the environment, and myself.

I want to end this post by saying,

“Understanding how things work and are made possible makes us open our eyes to more knowledge. We just haven’t analyze, evaluated and created it yet. So keep learning!”
